Yuck Skateshop Internship

This was the first film and edit I worked on for my internship at Yuck Skateshop. I was tasked to film and edit a video that introduced his first announced team rider for his shop which was Louis. I compiled all of the good clips from the day and reviewed them with my supervisor to figure out what he wanted to use for the final edit. Once we had the flow worked out, I color enhanced the footage and added in some music. Next was the start of my learning process for converting full size video clips into Instagram formatted media which took a minute to get the hang of, but I got it down not long after. It was nice to learn how to film tricks for skateboarding and was a very enjoyable experience to work with all parties from start to finish.

These couple weeks had me editing more then filming. I started off editing a short compilation of videos that were submitted for the national Go Skateboarding Day competition that Yuck put on so that people could vote on which trick was their favorite.
AJ had unseen footage but was in lower quality then what was wanted. I was tasked with trying to clean up the image quality and try to make it look up to modern quality. I tried my best to de-noise the footage and color enhance it but ended up adding a very slight amount of light leaks to cover up some of the noise. After the footage was cleaned up I was next tasked to edited his team introduction video and export it for mobile format.

Skater - Dawson Pruitt
This was the final film and edit combo that I completed during my internship. Dawson had an entirely different flow and pace to keep up with while filming which really helped push me out of my comfort zone and learn some new techniques while filming. The editing process was very much like the first video I completed, only just a lot faster and smoother of a process. I reviewed the footage with my supervisor, cut and reordered the clips to my supervisors liking, then I color enhance, add in the music, and finally I convert the sequence for a mobile friendly format.
Animation Testing for Yuck

Going into this final project with Yuck had me excited to revisit After Effects. I have not had much experience with this program before hand besides taking a class for it a few semesters back so I saw this as a challenge. I removed the mouths from the ice cream cones and imported the pieces into After Effects. I moved pieces around, adjusting their scale sizes and rotations as well as adding wiggle effects. After that is finished, I exported the video into premiere and adjusted the background and added in music. The video is not the final result as Yuck plans to use the animations for an upcoming event in a few months. I have two more in the making and will share them upon the agreed date I have with Yuck Skateshop.
Extra Test Screenshots
These are some leftover screenshots from some testing runs on the Yuck logo. The first couple were just some layered video tests using different blending mode options. The Mona Lisa one was done by doing some rough animation in premiere by moving pieces around. The final two images was some experimental testing with multiple different programs. The programs used were Premiere pro, deepdreamgenerator.com, EbSynth, and Avidemux 2.5. It was a very interesting experiment but I ended up learning a lot in the process and will be trying more stuff out in the future, especially with EbSynth.
